Jen Kweeday (b. 1977) is a freelance photographer based in the North West and works as a photography lecturer at Liverpool Community College.
She has loved photography from an early age and can remember taking small film cameras into junior school to document her friends. Jen credits both her parents as influential towards her love of photography, "...we literally have hundreds and hundreds of film photographs of the family, taken by both mum and dad, ranging from before I was born when dad was a long haired rock festival goer and mum was a sleek haired 70s chick. Then I was born in '77 and my sister in '81 (who is also a photography lover), and there are so many photographs of us all with the many pets that we've had over the years and with the family members that are no longer with us but thought about and loved every day. I've got my own children now too so combine that with the boom in digital photography and those family snaps must run into their thousands now!"
Jen works with both digital and film, including medium format, and specialises in portrait, music and fine art photography.
She is available on a freelance basis for private commissions and has an extensive back catalogue in which prints can be purchased. "I predominantly work with digital for clients unless they specify otherwise. All my own personal photographs are taken using film cameras. I still, even now, get excited at seeing what is on the roll of film after it's been developed..."
